NU-CORE™ matrix forms are made of clear polycarbonate and can be used with any light-cured, dual-cured, or self-curing resin build-up material. NU-CORE™ shell forms come in six sizes per quadrant and are designed to fit very accurately at the CEJ of the prepared tooth. NU-CORE™ is especially beneficial when a large portion of the coronal tooth structure is missing and a matrix band cannot be used.

NU-CORE™ Fabrication Details


  • 1. Prepare tooth for operation

  • 2. Perform initial tooth reduction

  • 3. Choose NU-CORE™ size — shell should fit tight around CEJ

  • 4. Place build-up resin on tooth and inside matrix to eliminate voids

  • 5. Fill shell and place over prepared tooth

  • 6. Remove excess resin around shell

  • 7. Cut and remove NU-CORE™ matrix form after build-up resin sets completely

  • 8. Finish

  • 9. Complete build-up and crown preparation
